Kansas Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (KSFMNP) is a program for low income seniors. Participants receive a coupon booklet to spend on locally grown fresh fruits and vegetable, herbs and honey from area farmers. Double the amount you can spend at the farmers market by shopping at the Abilene Farmer’s Market!
How does it work?
People who participate in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, also known as food stamps) can swipe their EBT cards at the market information tent to buy SNAP tokens, and receive a matching number of Double Up Food Bucks tokens (up to $25 per day). SNAP tokens can be used for any SNAP eligible items at the market, including vegetable plants, and use the Double Up Food Bucks tokens to buy more fresh fruits and vegetables!
Participants of the Kansas Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (KSFNMP) can show their coupons at the market information tent and receive a matching number of tokens to be used to buy fresh fruits and vegetables.
